It was time for another major social event in our Club. Together with Rotary Waverley we agreed on a fun night with Pizza @ Pizza Hut, followed by a Bowling competition. The girls team did pretty good, yet unfortunately got beaten by the boys team. Those who went for 2 rounds thought their chances to win would double, yet at the end of the day, there can only be one winner...

I trust it is right to say that everyone enjoyed the evening and it was great fun - certainly to be repeated in the near future! Many thanks to everyone who came along!

Like last year (2009), Rotaract Club of Edinburgh together with Rotary Club of Braids had their own stand at Edinburgh University Fresher's Week. The main goal was to raise awareness for ShelterBox, a wonderful, global charity lead by Rotary International. ShelterBox respond instantly to natural and manmade disasters by delivering ShelterBoxes to those who most need it. One box provides shelter for up to 10 people, providing a tent, sleeping bags, cutlery, cooking facilities and necessary equipment for basic survival. Although the main incentive was to raise awareness for this charity, we also got a chance to introduce our Club to new and existing students by promoting our activities within and out-with our community. A big Thank You! to Rotaray Braids for their cooperation and to Tobias, who represented our club to its best. Also to be thanked is the International Office of Edinburgh University for helping set up the tent and providing us with a stand.
